Award

Seven Scholarships ($500.00 USD each) to be awarded for the upcoming academic year.

Purpose of Scholarship:

The GHA scholarship is awarded to assist secondary and tertiary school students attending school full-time in Texas and in Grenada. with academic expenses for the academic school year. A total of seven scholarships will be awarded as follows: one student from each of the six parishes in Grenada, and one from Carriacou/Petite Martinique. For each of the students from the parish, his or her permanent residence and address must be from the specified parish. 

Eligibility: 

• Applicant must be either a secondary or tertiary education student in Texas or in Grenada. 
• Applicant must be registered as a full-time student. 
• Applicant must demonstrate a need for the scholarship. 
• Tertiary applicant must have defined career goals. 

Deadline: 

GHA accepts scholarship applications from April 1st – November 30th of each year.

Application package for the current school year must be completed and received by GHA NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 30TH. The selected scholarship winners will be announced in January. The seven scholarships to the students from each parish will be provided to the Ministry of Education in Grenada in the student’s name. The Ministry of Education will hold an award ceremony to present the scholarships to the students. 

Complete Application Packet Must Include the Following:

1. A 250 – 300-word essay to be completed on applicant’s career goals and economic need.
2. A completed, application form
3. Two letters of reference from current or former teachers to be uploaded
4. Copy of official transcripts/certificates to be uploaded
